Are Erik Karlsson's days in San Jose numbered?

Are Erik Karlsson's days in San Jose numbered?
Erik Karlsson is off to one of the best starts of his NHL career, currently leading the league with 18 even-strength points — 1 more than Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid — but will his production keep or push him out of San Jose?
Overall, Karlsson has produced 24 points in just 18 games this season which is quite the offensive outburst compared to the 22 points recorded in 52 games played just two seasons ago.
The veteran defenseman carries the 4th highest cap hit in the league with a full no-movement clause baked into his current eight-year contract.
But that won't stop San Jose's GM, Mike Grier from entertaining offers, especially with the Sharks struggling; currently 6th in the Pacific.
"To me, he's probably one of the three best offensive defensemen in the League, and he's been great for us. He's done everything we've asked as far as preparation, practicing, playing. He's been great.
"So maybe there's a scenario where a team comes asking for him [in a trade], because I do think he's a difference-maker. He's someone who can go out there and win you a game -- or win you a series, for that matter -- so maybe something will come up down the road. We'll see."
With plenty of time leading up to the March 3rd trade deadline, there is no rush for Grier to move his leading scorer... but that certainly won't stop the hockey media from speculating if the two-time Norris Trophy winner will end up back in an Ottawa Senators uniform before the year is over.

CAN'T MISS
🎩 Trevor Moore recorded his first NHL hat trick last night, scoring all three of the Los Angeles Kings goals in their 3-1 defeat of the Edmonton Oilers. Viktor Arvidsson assisted on all three goals, plus made one incredible mid-air save, while Cal Petersen stopped 22-of-23 shots faced. Los Angeles has now won five of its last six games.
🏥 Sabres goaltender Eric Comrie left last night's game thanks to teammate Rasmus Dahlin hitting Senators' forward Mathieu Joseph into the netminder midway through the second period. No word yet on the extent of the injury but the goaltender was not on the bench for the third period. Comrie is on pace to shatter his previous career high of 19 games played in a season, playing in his 11th game last night.
