Domi Gets It Done For Stars To Tie Series

When Max Domi was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes 10 years ago, the expectation was that he would develop into a playoff difference-maker.
That never happened for a variety of reasons. But that’s changing this season.
Domi contributed two goals and an assist Tuesday to lead the Dallas Stars to a 6-3 series-tying win against the Seattle Kraken in Game 4 of their second round series. The best-of-seven series is tied 2-2 heading into Thursday’s Game 5 in Dallas.
Domi came into this season’s playoffs with nine points in 24 career postseason games. He boasts 10 points in 10 games during the Stars’ current run. All of his points have come in the past six games.
"It's obviously nice to chip in and help the team out, but I think we had everyone going tonight," Domi said. "Everyone was making plays, everyone was competing and winning battles we needed to win because that's a great team over there. We know that. They work hard. A lot of speed, great goalie, great defense, so it's not easy to generate, but when you do you have to find ways to capitalize."
Among those going well is Joe Pavelski who has been the Stars’ leading man throughout the postseason.
Pavelski scored a power play goal to give him six goals in this series, and 28 postseason power play goals in his career. That ties him with Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin and Denis Potvin for seventh on the NHL’s all-time playoff power play goal list.

It was Pavelski’s 70th career playoff goal and 16th game-winner. He is tied with Detroit Red Wings great Steve Yzerman for 19th on the all-time postseason goals list. Pavelski is tied with Patrick Marleau and Jaromir for ninth on the league’s playoff GWG list.
Dallas defenseman Miro Heiskanen, injured by a shot to the face in Game 3, played in Game 4 with a full face shield. He played 31:02 and had one assist.

CAN’T MISS
⭐️ Jordan Martinook’s three points propel Hurricanes to 6-1 win over the Devils. After being held pointless in the 1st round against the Islanders, ‘Canes forward Jordan Martinook registered his 4th straight multipoint game (a new franchise playoff record), collecting a goal and two assists in last night’s victory. Jack Hughes gave the Devils the lead just 1:55 into regulation before Martin Necas tied the game with just over two minutes left in the 1st. The 2nd period was all Carolina as Necas, Pesce, Fast, Burns, and Martinook scored to establish a 6-1 lead; goals 2 through 5 were scored in a span of just 5:20. The Hurricanes can close out the best-of-seven series on Thursday in Raleigh, NC.
“The game was decided in a five-minute span and the rest of the game was ehhh,” Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour said.
🏆 Keller, Letang, and Stalock named Bill Masterton Trophy finalists. The trophy is awarded annually to the NHL player voted to best exemplify the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey as voted on by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association. Clayton Keller, a 1st-time finalist, underwent six months of rehab in order to recover from a fractured femur and didn’t miss a game this season while collecting 86 points. Kris Letang, a 2nd-time finalist, suffered a stroke midseason only to return to collect 41 points in 64 games, including 3 OT goals, and lead the Pens in ice time (24:51). Alex Stalock, a 1st-time finalist, played only one game in two season prior to 2022-23 after suffering from myocarditis due to COVID-19. Finally cleared to play last summer, Stalock signed with the Blackhawks on July 13 and went on to collect a 9-15-2 record, .908 save, and 2 shutouts in 27 games.
