🔄 NHL teams are making moves! Trade deadline tomorrow, March 8th:

  • Panthers acquire Vladimir Tarasenko from Senators for conditional 2024 fourth-round pick, 2025 third-round pick, while Ottawa retains 50% of Tarasenko's salary

  • Oilers acquire Adam Henrique, Sam Carrick, goaltender Ty Taylor and a 2024 seventh-round pick from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for their 2024 first-round pick and a conditional 2025 fifth-round pick while Anaheim retains 50% of both Henrique and Carrick's salaries. The Lightning also received a conditional 2025 fourth-round pick in the trade from the Oilers for retaining 25% of Henrique’s salary.

  • Avalanche acquire Sean Walker and 2026 fifth-round pick from Flyers for Ryan Johansen and 2025 first-round pick (top-10 protected)

  • Avalanche acquire Casey Mittelstadt from Sabres for Bo Byram

  • Rangers acquire Alex Wennberg from Kraken for 2024 second-round pick, conditional 2025 fourth-round pick (DAL), while Seattle retains 50% of Wennberg's salary

  • Golden Knights acquire Noah Hanifin from the Flames for Daniil Miromanov, a conditional 2025 first-round pick and a conditional 2025 third-round pick, while Calgary retains 50% of Hanifin’s salary. The Flyers receive a 2024 fifth-round pick from Vegas for retaining 50% of Hanifin's remaining salary.

🎩 Cale Makar scores 1st NHL hat trick, Avalanche roll over Red Wings 7-2. The 25-year-old defenseman wristed one through traffic in the 1st to tie the game at 1-1 before burying a rebound on his backhand in the 2nd and wristing another through traffic, this time on the power play, in the final minute of the 2nd to complete his 1st NHL hatty. Makar also assisted Nathan MacKinnon’s 1st period goal to finish with 4 points. Nathan MacKinnon extended his home point streak to 31 games with a goal and three assists, Mikko Rantanen collected 4 assists, and Artturi Lehkonen, Jonathan Drouin, and Jean-Luc Foudy added goals, while Alexandar Georgiev made 27 saves. 🎯 Auston Matthews snipes OT winner, Maple Leafs drop Sabres 2-1. The former 1st overall pick one-timed an incredible Mitch Marner feed to the top left corner of the net with just 40 seconds remaining in overtime last night to score his league-leading 54th goal and 3rd OT winner of the season. Willy Nylander opened scoring with his 34th of the year, catching and quickly releasing a Tyler Bertuzzi pass to the bottom right corner of the net past Buffalo’s Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Ilya Samsonov secured his 16th win of the year with 24 saves for a .960 save percentage as the Leafs improve to 10-2-0 in their past 12 games. Read more →
