Dorofeyev's 2 goals help Golden Knights over Wild, Kraken put up 8 against the 'Yotes, and more.
Good morning and happy Tuesday, April 4th.
Thanks to our readers who participated in yesterday’s poll. A whopping 83% of you believe the Bruins have the single season wins record in the bag. Considering they have five games remaining on their schedule that includes matchups against non-playoff teams in the Flyers, Capitals, and Canadiens, we’d say they have a pretty good chance too!

‘Robo’ Hits 100 Points to Help Dallas Stars Clinch Playoff Spot
When a player can accomplish a feat that Mike Modano couldn’t for the Dallas Stars, he is indeed special.
Jason Robertson did that Monday when he became the first Dallas player to register a 100-point season. He totaled a goal and three assists to help the Stars down the Nashville Predators 5-1 and clinch a playoff position.
Robertson hit 100 with his 43rd goal of the season and Dallas fans erupted in chants of “Robo. Robo. Robo.”
"We want that first seed, but you have to clinch first," Robertson said. "You've got to get that X on your name, then you can move forward. We kind of have the opportunity to really try to move up the standings in these next couple of games. Playoff hockey is coming back to Dallas, so that's big, and [hitting 100 points is] a special milestone."
Monday’s win moved the Stars into a first-place tie with the Minnesota Wild in the Central Division. The Wild lost 4-3 in a shootout Monday to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Robertson, 23, now has 101 points. Mike Modano boasted 557 goals and 1,399 points for the franchise, but never had more than 93 in a season.
The Stars franchise began as the Minnesota North Stars. When you combine Stars and North Stars history, Robertson is the fourth player in franchise history to reach 100 points.
The others: Dino Ciccarelli (106 in 1981-82 & 103 in 1986-87), Bobby Smith (114 in 1981-82), and Neal Broten (105 in 1985-86). Those three players eclipsed 100 points when the team was located in Minnesota.
Joe Pavelski also had a goal and an assist in this game. Pavelski is the fifth U.S.-born player in NHL history with at least eleven 25-goal seasons, joining Keith Tkachuk (13), Modano (13), Patrick Kane (11) and Joe Mullen (11).
Also, the Stars now have four players (Roope Hintz, Robertson, Pavelski, and Jamie Benn) with at least 70 points for the first time since 1992-93 (Mike Modano, Russ Courtnall, Dave Gagner, and Ulf Dahlen).

CAN’T MISS
🤴 Pavel Dorofeyev scores twice as Golden Knights beat Wild in shootout. The 22-year-old Russian rookie has been on a tear since being called up from the AHL, scoring his 6th and 7th NHL goals in just his 13th game of the season last night — his first of the night a one-timer late in the 2nd to tie the game at 2-2 and his second a snipe to the top left corner with just 34 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime and eventually a shootout, where he also scored. Keegan Kolesar scored his 8th of the season and Laurent Brossoit made 30 saves as the Golden Knights improve to 10-2-1 in their last 13 games. Vegas now holds a 3-point lead over LA for the top of the Pacific and, despite the loss, Minnesota clinched a playoff berth.
✌️ Jared McCann scores a pair as Kraken put up 8 against the Coyotes. The Kraken’s goal leader sniped a shorthanded goal for his 36th of the year in the 1st period before toe-dragging and snapping a shot left post and in for his 37th in the 2nd. Jordan Eberle, Carson Soucy, Will Borgen, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Morgan Geekie, and Ryan Donato each scored once, Daniel Sprong, Justin Schultz, and Vince Dunn each collected two assists, while Philipp Grubauer made 20 saves in the 8-1 win. The Kraken are 5-4-1 in their last ten and hold a 3-point lead over the Jets for the first Western Conference wild card spot. The loss was the Coyotes’ 8th in a row.
