Light night in the NHL but still plenty of highlights thanks to John Tavares plus the surging Sabres. And the rumor mill suggests a 'funny' owner could be in the Senators' future. Happy Thursday!

The Pittsburgh Penguins started the season on a tear, winning four of their first five games with their sole defeat coming in overtime and therefore still earning them a point. But that was weeks ago, registering their last victory on October 22nd against the Blue Jackets.

Granted, any fan can accept the occasional defeat, especially from the likes of the Oilers and Flames while on a western swing... but losing to the Canucks and the Kraken on back-to-back nights?!

Or worse yet, blowing a 5-2 lead to the Bruins followed by blowing a 2-0 lead to the Sabres the following night for their sixth straight loss!

Let's be honest: it's early in the season and this team is overflowing with experience and winners but every point counts. It's best they find their mojo, swagger, or whatever they need to right this ship, sooner than later.

But if there were one silver lining for Pens fans last night: the Pens looked great in those retro jerseys!
